Lisa Caulley

Program Lead

Lisa Caulley is an Associate Professor and clinician-scientist based at University of Ottawa, the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and Aarhus University. She specializes in rhinology and skull base surgery and leads Value By Design, a research program focused on evaluating clinical innovation through an integrated framework of outcomes research and health economics.

Her work spans a range of surgical disorders, including chronic rhinosinusitis, epistaxis, airway disease, and head and neck conditions. Through clinical trials, real-world data, and economic evaluation, her research seeks to determine which technologies, treatments, and care strategies improve patient outcomes and deliver high-value, sustainable healthcar

  • Angelina Tohme

    RESEARCH COORDINATOR

    Angelina Tohme holds an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has been working at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) for the past five years as a Research Coordinator, where she has developed extensive expertise in clinical research coordination, study management, ethics and regulatory processes, and multidisciplinary collaboration.


  • Rintu Varghese

    RESEARCH ASSISTANT

    Rintu Varghese is a Clinical Research Assistant at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, supporting clinical trials and investigator‑initiated studies. She holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology and has experience in research coordination, ethics submissions, and regulatory compliance.

  • Mikayla Laporte

    RESEARCH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    Mikayla Laporte is a Research Administrative Assistant at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute within the Methodological and Implementation Research (MIR) Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and is currently completing the Clinical Research Certificate Program at The Michener Institute. Mikayla supports a variety of research and administrative activities, including study coordination, regulatory documentation, and participant-related processes, with a strong interest in advancing patient-centered research and collaborative health care initiatives.
